Biography of Elizabeth W. Schott

Beth is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, who received her BFA in Fine Arts and Education from Emory and Henry College in the arts-rich community of Abingdon, Virginia. While attending E&H she participated her sophomore and senior years in Rome, Italy studying Roman Art and Archaeology, in the January program. Beth is a certified K-12 art teacher.

Beth studied Appalachian crafts and pottery at Virginia Intermont. She attended the
Art Academy of Cincinnati for sculpture, and completed her postgraduate work in Advertising Design at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.

She has continued her studies internationally with; Robert Liberace (Florida, Ireland), William Whitaker (Arizona), Marvin Mattelson (North Carolina), Joy Thomas (Cincinnati), and Tim Tyler (Indiana).

Beth is a juried member of the Pastel Society of America and the Cincinnati Art Club. She is also a member of the Portrait Society of America and A Stroke of Genius Portrait artist, and has appeared in "International Artist" magazines portrait showcase.

In 2005, she was honored to be chosen as one of the artist to participate in the exhibit "Faces of the 'Fallen", in a tribute to fallen soldiers from Afghanistan and Iraq.

She has painted posthumously, a portrait of Marge Schott, (no relation) as a 23-year-old young woman, to hang in one of the many buildings that carry her name.

j.herbin, a French supplier of fine inks and writing instruments, has featured her as the only artist, displaying a piece she created with their ink products.

She has also worked with children author, Virginia Berten, as the illustrator on two of Ms. Berten’s books: “Littsie of Cincinnati”, which received an IPPY bronze award, and “Jake and Sam at the Empty Abby”, a recipient of a silver medal, in the juvenile book division of Moonbeams Children Book Awards. There recently completed sequel, “Littsie and the Underground Railroad”, has already received a bronze medal for outstanding children literature

Elizabeth is represented by "A Stroke of Genius" for portraiture,
and shows oils at "Details", 513.271.1073
